Over 90% of label printing problems — such as cut-off edges, faint lines, or skipped blank stickers — are caused by incorrect printer driver settings rather than the PDF itself. Once you configure these four driver preferences, every label will print centered and crystal clear.
One-time printer driver configuration (Windows)
- Open Windows Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
- Click your thermal printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Under Page Setup / Stock, click New and create a paper size:
- Name: 100x150
- Width: 100.0 mm (or 4.00 in)
- Height: 150.0 mm (or 6.00 in)
- Under Graphics / Options, set Darkness (or Density) to 10–12.
- Set Print Speed to 3.0 or 4.0 in/sec. Lower speeds ensure sharper thermal transfer on barcode lines.
- Click Apply and OK.
Everyday browser print dialog settings
When you click 'Print' or open the cropped PDF in Chrome or Edge:
- Destination: Choose your thermal printer.
- Pages: All.
- Paper Size: Select the 100x150 stock you created.
- Scale: Select Fit to printable area (or Fit to Paper).
- Margins: None.
How to calibrate the label gap sensor
If your printer skips stickers or prints across the gap between two labels, the optical sensor needs to be recalibrated:
- Ensure label roll is properly loaded with the guides snug against the edges.
- Power off the printer.
- Hold down the front FEED button while powering on the unit.
- Release the button once the indicator light flashes red/orange. The printer will feed 2–3 labels to measure gap distance and stop precisely at the tear line.
